Different platforms count what you write against hard character limits, and going over gets your post truncated or rejected. This tool shows a live character count and, more usefully, how many characters you have left for a tweet, an SMS, a search engine title and description, an Instagram caption and a LinkedIn post. When a figure turns red you are over that platform's limit.
